Clevedon.me is a local search and directory platform operated by The Nerd Herd to help connect people with local businesses, organisations, clubs, services and community projects within Clevedon and the surrounding area.
What data we collect
When somebody registers a listing or microsite request, we may collect a small amount of information, including:
- Name
- Email address
- Business, organisation or listing name
- Website or social media links
- Logo uploads
- Search keywords and descriptions submitted by the user
This information is supplied voluntarily by the person submitting the listing.
What we use the data for
The information provided is used only for managing and approving listings, contacting listing owners regarding their listing, facilitating microsite setup and support, and responding to enquiries, abuse reports or support requests.
We do not sell personal data. We do not profile users. We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information.
Public visibility
Clevedon.me does not intentionally expose personal data publicly. Public listings are limited to information deliberately submitted for display by the listing owner, such as business or organisation names, public descriptions, logos and links.
Analytics and technical information
Basic anonymous technical information such as session counts, page visits and general usage statistics may be collected for operational and diagnostic purposes. This data is not used to personally identify visitors.
Cookies and local storage
The public Clevedon.me site does not use tracking cookies. Essential session cookies may be used for admin login, security and management functions. The Progressive Web App install prompt may use localStorage to remember if a visitor has dismissed the install prompt, but this is not used for tracking.
GDPR and Subject Access Requests
We are happy to comply with legitimate GDPR Subject Access Requests. However, the only personal data we normally hold is the information submitted directly by the listing owner or user.

Abuse and safeguarding
If you believe a listing is fraudulent, misleading, abusive or impersonating another organisation, please contact us using the abuse reporting tools or by emailing moo@tnh.org.uk.
Data retention
We retain listing information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service and maintain legitimate records relating to listings and support requests.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated occasionally as Clevedon.me evolves.
